About Me

Note from Maria: I am a Registered Dietitian with a Master of Public Health Degree in Nutrition from UNC at Chapel Hill. I have a passion for helping people with nutrition & wellness, especially moms. Women & moms provide care for everyone else often at the expense of considering their own needs. Think Pink!!

October is breast cancer awareness month, so let's talk about breast cancer prevention....I wrote a post a few days ago about general cancer prevention which talked about maintaining a healthy weight and making good food choices. Here are some ADDITIONAL things you can do to reduce cancer risks, some specific to breast cancer:
Of course see your doctor once a year, discuss your family history of cancer and ask if need to schedule a mammogram. Definitely schedule a doc appointment ASAP if  you notice any changes in your breasts.
