Change your exercise routine......

It is good to switch the type of exercise you do every once in a while because your body gets "used to" activities you do all the time. Here are some examples:

  • If you don't exercise at all...start walking each day.
  • If you only run, add something else such as cycling or rowing.
  • If you only do cardio, add some strength training.
  • If you already exercise often, try a boot camp type class such as CrossFit
I tried my first CrossFit class today, it was a challenge, but I did finish it. I would definitely recommend it to those who routinely do cardio and strength training. If you are not familiar with CrossFit, it is a combination of various intense cardio/strength activities such as jumping rope, sprints, and exercising with weights. Some of the things we did in today's workout included: running, jumping  rope, catching the medicine ball, abs/plank.

The most important thing is that you do exercise!! Find something you like doing and schedule it on  your calendar as you would any other important appointment. It is recommended that adults engage in physical activity at least 30 minutes most days of the week. Please note that if you are new to exercise that you should check with your doctor before starting a new exercise routine.

Stay Well!!
