Visit your local Farmer's Market today

This is National Farmers Market Week, what a great time to think about visiting your local market!! Fresh produce is awesome this time of year. You will get great tasting fresh produce that has not been shipped all over the country and also support your local farmers. All that great looking produce is likely to get you excited about eating your fruits and veggies. When getting fresh produce, it tastes great all by itself, no need for a lot of cooking or preparation. If you have kids you are trying to keep busy this summer, take them to the market and have them pick out something. Maybe they will get excited about fruit &/or veggies too!

You can find a local farmer's market in NC by following this link: http://www.ncfarmfresh.com/

If you don't live in NC, you can find a farmer's market near you by following this link:  http://search.ams.usda.gov/farmersmarkets/

Remember at least 1/2 of your plate at each meal should be veggies or a combo of veggies and fruit!!
